Passes

On Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th I will be holding viva sessions for people to have an opportunity to achieve passes verbally in recorded discussions.

This is for passes only. Merits and Distinctions cannot be completed in this way.

If you think that you have missed the odd P here and there I recommend that you come into college to complete them.

I am only in college Tuesday and Wednesday this week so if in doubt please come in.

You have until tomorrow to upload to there.

Posting Work

Ladies and Gentlemen,
In the name of fairness any work posted and shared with Mark after Saturday night 15/06/13 (Midnight) will be treated as a final draft.

If you have shared work since then I suggest you recall it unless it has been marked by me and you have the grade you require!

Read and inform your classmates

I have put back the due date for all coursework until Saturday night due to low turnout.

You need to check a few things to save heartache/disappointment at a later date.

1) The times are different for the different units so be aware of this!

2) If you don't submit work by the given time on Saturday for a particular unit you will only have Passes marked for that unit. You have been advised. Please make sure your friends are aware of this.

3)You need to copy and paste all your work into a maximum of one Word document and one PowerPoint/Spreadsheet to be uploaded.

4)Any PowerPoint/Spreadsheets need to be saved as PDF to be uploaded.

5)Any emails I receive with more than 1 word doc, 1 spreadsheet and 1 PowerPoint per Unit will be deleted without being looked at.It will not count as a submission.

6)Any email with an attachment like p1.doc etc will be deleted and not count as a submission.

7) Documents must be named yourname_unitnumber.doc to be looked at by myself or Genora.

8)Please make sure all of your friends/mates/people in your class are aware of these as right now it looks like not many people are going to a Level 3 course anywhere!

Be sensible

People please do not send a units work via email in lots of documents, especially documents named P1 etc.
Teachers have over 100 students each doing between. 6 and 18 units that's a lot of P1's etc. do you expect us to save your work and rename it etc for you? I do not have the time it inclination to do so.

Copy and paste your unit into 1 document or 1 doc and 1 PowerPoint whatever and upload it to moodle or rename it your name_unit_number.doc

I will be deleting any emails that have not complied with this as it is not my job to do basic word processing for students.

Checklist reminder


Can you please use the checklist that I posted the other day! Especially those of you that I have started it off for. It will help us all know where you are at.

I will add sections for units 1,2,3,10 and 11 tomorrow.

For those that haven't downloaded it it can be found here.


Below is the link to the cover sheets for the 9 Units you are to have completed this academic year.

Could you please download them, print them off, sign them, put them in a plastic wallet and hand them in to either Mark or Genora before 5pm Friday 14th of June 2013.

Using turnitin

Please do not upload any assignments over existing assignments on Turnitin as it will overwrite them.

New turnitin assignments are being created to submit work onto when I am in college on Wednesday 12th of June 2013.

Passes for all units need to be submitted by 5pm Friday 14th of June 2013. Anything handed in after this time will be treated as a final draft...You have been warned.

All Merits and Distinctions need to be completed by 21/06/13 to be marked.

Any Merits/Distinctions submitted after this date will not be marked.


There are new turnitin assignments open on moodle for units 1,2,3,10 and 11 there is also one for the spring project for those that did it in word or PowerPoint.

Units 10 and 11 as well as spring project can be done in word or blogger. Don't spend ages moving it from wherever you've done it to another format.

They can be found in the term 1 folder on moodle.
Remember it is in your interest to get as much in as possible on or before Friday so you will get feedback early.
Also only 1 doc can be uploaded per part so copy all P's and M's for a unit into 1 document before uploading.

Project units Checklist

There are units 4,8,12 and 16 criteria and what needs to be done for them on the document linked to below.

You are to check you have done the required work and insert a link to your blog post or google drive document in the penultimate box to the left.

I need you to do this as people have done work all over the place and it is taking me too long to find and mark it.

It will probably take you about 20 minutes to do altogether rather than 40 minutes per learner for me x 60-70 learners I'm sure you see it makes sense.

When this is completed please post a link to it on blogger so I can mark work more efficiently so give you feedback quicker.
